AGES 13 - 17

Why BECOMING

Being a teenager today is harder than most adults remember. The pressure to perform, to fit in, to have it all figured out – it comes from everywhere. School, social media, family, friends. And somewhere in all that noise, the most important question gets lost: Who am I, really?

BECOMING is seven days away from all of it. No grades. No followers. No expectations. Just nature, honest conversations, and the rare experience of being seen for who you actually are – not who everyone wants you to be.

WHAT THEY BRING HOME

What They Will Bring Home

WHAT THEY BRING HOME -11

Clarity About Who They Are

Not answers to everything - but better questions. And the confidence to sit with uncertainty instead of numbing it with distractions.

Tools for the Hard Days

Practical ways to handle anxiety, overwhelm, and the pressure that comes from every direction. Not theory - skills they will actually use.

A Reset That Actually Works

Not a vacation. Something deeper. The kind of mental clarity that screens and scrolling can never provide. They come back lighter.

Friends Who Actually Listen

Four days without social media, without posturing, without the performance. Just real conversations with peers going through the same things.

Their Own Voice

The ability to say what they actually think - not what they think others want to hear. Opinions and values that belong to them.

Permission to Be Unfinished

The relief of being around adults who do not expect them to have it all figured out. Space to be sixteen or seventeen - not a finished product.

MEET OUR TEAM

Trained Facilitators Who Hold Space

We don’t instruct – we create conditions where children feel safe enough to explore, express, and discover.

WHAT FOUR DAYS LOOK LIKE

What Actually Happens

Morning in the Mountains

We start slow. Forest trails, mountain air, no alarms. Teenagers learn what it feels like to wake up without immediately reaching for a phone. The landscape does half the work.

Making and Creating

Art, movement, writing, music - whatever helps them process and express. No grades, no audience, no Instagram. Just the freedom to create without worrying about what anyone thinks.

Nights Under Open Sky

Bonfires. Stargazing. Late conversations that happen only when the day slows down. Teenagers are often surprised by how much they have to say when someone is actually listening.

Conversations That Matter

Small group circles where everyone speaks and everyone listens. Topics that actually matter - identity, pressure, fear, dreams. No one is forced to share, but most do. Something about this space makes honesty easier.

Challenges That Build Trust

Outdoor activities that require teamwork. Not competition - cooperation. The kind of experiences that turn strangers into friends faster than months of small talk.

WHAT THIS IS NOT

Let Us Be Clear

This is not therapy

We are not treating mental health conditions. If your teenager needs clinical support, we will tell you.

This is not a boot camp

No one will be pushed beyond their limits or forced into anything. Challenge is always by choice.

This is not a lecture series

Teenagers get enough of that. This is experiential - they learn by doing, not by being told.

This is not a quick fix

Four days plants seeds. Some sprout immediately. Some take time. We do not promise transformation - we create conditions for it.

What it is

A supported pause. A chance for your teenager to step out of their life long enough to see it clearly.

Testimonials

From Parents Who Have Sent Their Children

Reflections from children, teens, and parents who experienced
emotional safety, growth, and connection.

Three weeks after the retreat, my daughter said something that stopped me: 'I used to think I wasn't good enough. Now I know I just needed to believe in myself.'

Anita Sharma Parent of Roots & Wings Participant

My son has always been the 'quiet one.' After BECOMING, he came home and actually talked to us. Not about the activities—about himself, his fears, his dreams.

Rohan Mehta Parent of Becoming Participant

I was skeptical—another expensive camp? But this was different. The facilitators genuinely cared about my child. She's been more confident, more expressive, more herself.

Neha Kapoor Parent of Roots & Wings Participant

What I loved most was the parent guidance after. They didn't just 'fix' my child and send him back. They helped me understand how to continue what they started.

FAQ's

Frequently Asked Questions

Do not force it. Share this page with them and let them decide. Teenagers can smell when something is being pushed on them — and they resist harder. What works better: ask if they would be open to a discovery call where they can ask their own questions. We have had many skeptical teens become our biggest advocates.

No. BECOMING is a growth experience, not clinical treatment. Our facilitators are trained in expressive arts and adolescent development, but we do not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. If your teenager needs therapeutic support, we will be honest about that and can help you find appropriate resources.

Many teenagers who come to BECOMING are navigating difficult experiences. The retreat can be supportive — but it is not a substitute for professional help if that is needed. Book a discovery call and let us talk honestly about whether this is the right fit right now.

We ask participants to go phone-free during the retreat. This is non-negotiable — and it is often what makes the biggest difference. Parents receive updates and can reach us in emergencies. Most teenagers tell us afterward that the phone break was harder than expected but worth it.

Many participants are introverted or initially guarded. Our facilitation style creates safety without pressure. No one is forced to share. Often the quietest teenagers surprise themselves — something about being away from their usual environment and social pressures allows them to open up in ways they do not at home or school.

Our team includes trained expressive arts therapists and professionals with backgrounds in adolescent development. We maintain a careful facilitator-to-participant ratio. All team members undergo thorough background checks and child safety training. We can share more details during a discovery call.

Most programs focus on achievement, skills, or adventure. BECOMING focuses on inner work — identity, self-awareness, emotional clarity. We are not building resumes. We are not creating leaders. We are giving teenagers the rare gift of space to understand who they are becoming.
