ABOUT YOUNG SOULTALES

Curating Safe Spaces for Emotional Growth & Self-Discovery

At Young SoulTales, we believe the most important learning happens beyond classrooms—in the quiet moments of self-questioning. We create safe, pressure-free spaces where children slow down, connect inward, and learn what textbooks never teach: how to feel, trust themselves, and belong without losing who they are.

Through nature, movement, arts, and developmental psychology-based, body-aware practices, children experience real, lasting growth—not just understanding, but transformation.

We don’t rush growth. We create the conditions where it can naturally unfold.

THE GAP

The Missing Education

In India, children master academics and competitive exams but we forgot to teach them the most important subject: themselves.

Taught to Succeed, Not to Feel

Our education system excels at preparing children for exams, but emotional development is left to chance. Children learn quadratic equations before they learn to name what's happening in their chest when they're
anxious.

Body Knows Forgetting Mind

Emotions don't just live in thoughts but they live in the body. Anxiety tightens the chest. Fear clenches the stomach. But children spend their days sitting still, disconnected from the very place where feelings need to be felt and released.

Emotional Literacy Gap

When a child melts down, we say "use your words." But what if they don't have words yet? Emotional literacy isn't automatic, it's learned. And most children are navigating complex feelings with a vocabulary they were never given.

The Performance Pressure

Children today are scheduled, optimized, and measured constantly. But in the rush to develop skills and achievements, we've forgotten to ask: Who are you becoming beneath all this performance?

Screen-Saturated Childhood

Today’s children spend more time on screens than in nature—leaving them overstimulated, under-moved, emotionally dysregulated, and deeply disconnected. Play, movement, connection, balance.

Identity vs. Performance

By the time children reach adolescence, many have learned to perform rather than be. They've mastered the art of meeting expectations, but lost touch with who they actually are underneath.

Your child is learning how to perform. But who's teaching them how to be?

Join a growing community of parents who are choosing a different path, one where emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and authentic connection matter as much as gradesand achievements.

Trained Facilitators Who Hold Space

We don’t instruct – we create conditions where children feel safe enough to explore, express, and discover.

OUR PROGRAMS

Designed for the Moments That Matter

Each Young SoulTales program is built around a critical developmental stage, the moments when children are forming core beliefs about who they are, whether they belong, and what they’re capable of. We don’t rush these moments. We hold space for them to unfold naturally.

Roots & Wings

Roots & Wings is a 4-day residential retreat where children experience belonging without performance. They learn that emotions aren’t problems to fix but they’re information to listen to. Through movement, nature, and expressive arts, they discover what it feels like to be seen, not measured.

Focus Areas:

Emotional Awareness · Self-trust · Body connection · Peer Belonging

BECOMING

BECOMING is a 7-day immersive retreat where teenagers step away from performance and into presence. Through deep conversations, movement practices, solo reflection time, and creative expression, they explore what’s underneath the roles they’ve learned to play.

Focus Areas:

Identity exploration · Emotional regulation · Authentic self-expression · Peer connection

Parent Workshops

This retreat is for parents who want to break that cycle. Through body-based practices, group reflection, and guided exercises, you’ll explore your own emotional patterns, triggers, and the ways you learned to relate to feelings as a childso you can respond with awareness, presence, and intention.

Focus Areas:

Emotional attunement · Co-regulation · Communication · Self-compassion

Our philosophy

A Journey Inward Guided with Care

Emotional Safety

We create environments where children and families feel safe, respected, and comfortable expressing emotions without fear or pressure.

Understanding First

We listen deeply before guiding. Emotions are seen as meaningful messages, not behaviors to be fixed.

Gentle Growth

Growth is never forced. Each journey unfolds naturally, at a pace that feels right for every individual.

Nature as Support

Natural surroundings help calm the nervous system, ease defenses, and encourage honest reflection and connection

Connection Over Correction

We prioritize trust and emotional connection, because lasting change grows from understanding, not control.

Respect for Individuality

Every child and family is unique. We honor personal rhythms, sensitivities, and individual ways of being.

WHAT SETS US APART

More Than a Camp. A Developmental Experience.

While most programs focus on fun or skills, Young SoulTales is designed around what matters for lasting growth – emotional safety, self-trust, and connection.

Psychology-Backed Approach

Every activity is grounded in developmental psychology (Erik Erikson's framework) and expressive movement therapy - not just entertainment.

Small, Intentional Groups

We keep groups small so every child feels seen, heard, and safe enough to be themselves

Parent Partnership

Growth doesn't stop at the retreat. We equip parents with insights to continue supporting their child's emotional development at home.

Testimonials

Voices from the Journey

Reflections from children, teens, and parents who experienced
emotional safety, growth, and connection.

Three weeks after the retreat, my daughter said something that stopped me: 'I used to think I wasn't good enough. Now I know I just needed to believe in myself.'

Anita Sharma Parent of Roots & Wings Participant

My son has always been the 'quiet one.' After BECOMING, he came home and actually talked to us. Not about the activities—about himself, his fears, his dreams.

Rohan Mehta Parent of Becoming Participant

I was skeptical—another expensive camp? But this was different. The facilitators genuinely cared about my child. She's been more confident, more expressive, more herself.

Neha Kapoor Parent of Roots & Wings Participant

What I loved most was the parent guidance after. They didn't just 'fix' my child and send him back. They helped me understand how to continue what they started.

Vikram Iyer Parent of Becoming Participant

Preeti Toraskar

Founder & Lead Facilitator

For 18 years, I designed physical spaces for people to live in. Then I realized the spaces children needed most are the emotional and developmental ones which weren’t being created anywhere.
I stopped designing rooms and started creating experiences where children learn what schools never teach: how to understand themselves.
With a Bachelor’s in Psychology and currently completing my Master’s in Expressive Movement Therapy (graduating June 2026), Young SoulTales is built on developmental psychology (Erik Erikson’s framework), body-based practices, and the belief that emotions are an invitation to deeper conversations and information to listen.
